Dog Mentor

Our Dog Mentor is not just a valued member of the team, but also a much-loved four‑legged friend named Arwen.  She plays a key role in supporting students’ emotional wellbeing and social development. With her calm and friendly nature, Arwen helps to create a soothing environment where pupils feel safe, understood, and more confident.

She is often involved in sessions where students may be feeling anxious, upset, or in need of quiet companionship, offering comfort and encouragement just by being present. Arwen also helps students develop empathy, communication, and responsibility, contributing positively to their learning and personal growth.

Her presence in school has made a meaningful difference, not only in individual sessions but in the overall school atmosphere. For more information about the Dog Mentor Programme, you can visit The Dog Mentor website: https://www.thedogmentor.co.uk

Wellbeing

Wellbeing is a key priority in our school, and we are proud to have Miss Hilton dedicated to supporting this. Miss Hilton offers scheduled appointments for any children who feel they need time to talk, whether it’s about something that’s worrying them, affecting their learning, or just to have someone to listen. She works from a calm, quiet room that provides a safe and welcoming environment where children can feel comfortable and supported. In addition to one-to-one sessions, Miss Hilton also runs our Safe Space Club during break and lunchtimes, where children are free to drop in, relax, and take a moment away from the busy school day. This space helps children feel valued, heard, and emotionally supported, contributing positively to their overall wellbeing and school experience
